A meeting was held with the heads of the Council of Elders and Union of Veterans of the occupied regions
On May 12, a meeting was held with the heads of the Council of Elders and Union of Veterans of the occupied regions in the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.

The Chairman of the Committee Rovshan Rzayev said that the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan has taken an active part in the socio-political, scientific and cultural life of our country.
Saying that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev had always highly appreciated the role of the Council of Elders and Unions of Veterans of regions in the society, the Chairman noted that this tradition is now being continued by the President Ilham Aliyev.

Speaking about the state care for refugees and internally displaced persons, the Chairman of the State Committee said that the President Ilham Aliyev always keeps their problems in the center of attention, carries out consistent and purposeful work aimed at improving their social conditions.

He underlined that modern-type buildings are being constructed for IDPs by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and steps are being taken to solve the problems of internally displaced persons settled in the damaged buildings in recent years.

Speaking about the occupation of our lands, the representative of Khojali veterans said that Khojali genocide was a crime against humanity and that the world treats this with double standard.
The Chairman of the Committee Rovshan Rzayev emphasized the importance of the international campaign “Justice for Khojali!” initiated by the Vice President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, and said that many national and international organizations recognized Khojali genocide at the international level as a result of purposeful promotions regarding Khojali genocide within the campaign.
